Life of the Toothbrush: After the Teeth

posted in: Oral Health | 0

A toothbrush is only supposed to be used for 3 months or 60 days. For three months, a good pair of soft or medium toothbrush shall be your best tool against tooth decay, and it is a weapon you can rely on to serve you well after every meal. After the three months is up, like any good soldier, you are supposed to retire it.

But what do you do with a toothbrush after it retires from your oral health defence team? Perhaps you are thinking it would be such a waste to simply throw them away, so maybe you can consider them for the following:

Life of a toothbrush

  • Toothbrush for Pets– It has personally served you for a time, now it is time to serve your pets. While there are designated toothbrushes for dogs, why not save your money and use an old toothbrush for man’s beast friend instead?
  • Cleaning Utensil– After it has done its cleaning purpose in your mouth, a toothbrush can very well perform a good cleaning for a lot of things: to clean beneath your fingernails, to clean car or bike tires, to clean in kitchen and bathroom surfaces, to clean jewellery and other tiny trinkets, for dishwashing and cleaning hard to reach areas, to remove dust and crumbs from keyboards and so much more.
  • Art Tool– If you are looking to work on some texture on any of your artwork, the bristles of the toothbrush can work its beautiful magic on your creations, whether it is a painting or sculpture.
  • Skincare and Grooming -You may not think of it right away, but you can use an old toothbrush for dyeing your hair and also to exfoliate dead skin cells from your face, lips and neck.

Why should you let something just go to waste like that? A toothbrush does not have to be completely retired after three months, it has more battles to fight.
